In 2012, award winning multi-instrumentalist Colin Benders, better known as Kyteman, asked me to do the artwork for his new album. His Orchestra produces (in their own words) a merge of sounds, somewhere between Opera, Hiphop, Drum & Bass, Electro & Minimalism. The Kyteman Orchestra and I worked together on this project with graphic designer Bas Koopmans and Festina Lente Collective. Because the album is about growth and decay, we decided to compose the picture in different layers, so you can watch the tree with the Kyteman typography arise or deteriorate step by step. The first layer is the empty landscape, symbol of the beginning or the end of the world. In the limited edition one can add or peel off the words and additional branches I painted on transparent pvc sheets.
